If you do not already have it, The Golden Rules of Acting by Andy Nyman is a terrific read. Teaches and reminds you of how to survive actor life - not to act. There are many witty comments and wisdom that I will quote frequently in this!
Before you pay for all these auditions think on this:
"A frightening statistic - in the British Actors' Equity survey of 2010, 69% of the polled union members declared that they earned less than £3000 a year. Read that again. Now ask yourself, how will you be the remaining 31%?"
Now that isn't to scare you off. It's to remind you of the path you are choosing. If you read that and think - shit, that's terrifying - then welcome aboard. And then just think of a life with no acting at all. That always makes my heart ache.
