Enough of the drama, let's talk drama!

I think I'm pretty decided that I want to work on my acting in this next year. I'm thinking maybe of doing a few professional workshops alongside the casual classes I'm taking at the Queens Theatre. The Shakespeare short course at CSSD looks amazing, and great for only £450. I think this is the way forward for me. Even I can tell that my acting really is not up to scratch for auditioning - seriously scruffy. Lets hope that a year of acting courses, extra work and classes is enough to prove next year that I can survive this business.
I've also recently been looking back at comments and thinking about writing. I enjoy blogging. In fact no, it's not just blogging. It's writing that I love - even when I was in primary school I would write elaborate short stories. Novels are daunting however. My writing style has too much spoken voice for it to be taken as serious literature. But perhaps plays? I'm not sure.

Does anyone else have a plan for this year? Audition preparations?

    2. I hadn't thought of NYT, but so many successful actors start out in it most of whom move onto RADA or Guildhall later on. No worries :)

  2. Hey i love your blog I've only just found it and i'm applying for drama schools this year! I'm still trying to find all my monologues before i apply just yet! reading about your experiences has been really helpful but at the same time I was thinking...hmm this girl seems fantastic and she didn't get in ...how the hell am i meant to get in!But its my dream and i love everything about it which means i have to go for it! I'm very interested in naturalistic acting which makes me wonder should i apply for rada or would you say rada is more suited to those who live and breath shakespeare?

  4. I think you are planning to run an acting school where you can teach the students to build up their career in acting. Hope you'll provide best acting courses.
